Clear Skies
Matte or Enamel
Sheen: Matte is a low lustre eggshell that resembles a flat paint in the way it touches up yet still scrubbable. Enamel is a semi-gloss trim paint. The enamel is about as tough a paint as you can get.
Uses: Walls, Ceilings, Trim. Excellent for Cement Fiber Siding or exterior house painting. Self Priming on raw wood, cement fiber and drywall.
What's the difference? Locally made, locally sourced. Additives that usually go unmentioned are addressed in Clear Skies. No vinyl. Tougher than most exterior paints yet smells good for interior use.
Description: Clear Skies is no ordinary Low Voc paint. It is a Non toxic | Sustainably made paint that leaves the home smelling fresh and clean. Not only is it easy to use it's also very durable and since it is self priming you don't need to prime raw drywall, wood or masonry. The secret is in our pure ingredients. You can't get this rich, premium look from cheap Low VOC vinyl or acrylic "copolymers". Both of which we feel are not sustainable or non toxic.
Additives: Earthpaint has spent many years finding ways to make safer additive technology work. Earthpaint uses plant based coalescents, biocides based on skin cream technology, a defoamer that adds no VOC or Silicone to the paint. To really make a difference every single non toxic, high purity ingredient must be safe enough for us to use near our own children!
Getting Started
Priming: Clear Skies is Self Priming, meaning it seals and bonds over raw drywall, wood and masonry but it is not a stain blocker or dark color primer. If you back prime darker colors they will cover in less coats. If you select a dark color plan to prime first. You can also choose a grey color as the primer which is a very common primer color. Our software tests for hide, so if there is any issue with the color you choose we will call you.
How Much to buy? Estimate 400 sft / gl to repaint. Raw, absorbent surfaces will soak in more product. This included new drywall. Figure on 1 coat for repainting similar colors. 2-3 coats for new walls. 2-3 coats for going over darker colors.
Additional uses include - Masonry: As a water repellent sealer for lime based plasters, Earth or clay plasters, gypsum, concrete block, stucco, concrete floors.
